Get more relief from Child’s Pose.

As many of us know, yoga poses are good for your mind and spirituality. Physically yoga implements balance, strength, and flexibility. One of the most simple poses you will learn while practicing yoga is Child’s pose. This pose elongates the spine. Stretches your quadriceps and ankles. It also stimulates your organs which aids in digestion.

Because of the elementary nature of Childs's pose there are modifications to enhance the benefits of this pose. Here are a few tricks to continue to elongate the spine and provide relief for your lower back.

Separate your knees to meet the edges of your yoga mat. This will open up your hips and allow for a deeper stretch in your lower back.

Reach to the right outside of your mat.

Reach to the left outside of your mat.

Bring your palms and forearms to the top of medium sized stability ball. Roll your palms outward so that your pinky is placed on the ball and your palms are facing each other.

Bring your palms and forearms to the top of medium sized stability ball.
